Tyler Chance

Tyler Chance is a member of SBSB’s Defense Base Act team. Before joining the firm, he worked as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s office. He values his time there and all he was able to learn but saw working in the field of maritime law as an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. Tyler appreciates the many challenges the field presents and the fact that circumstances can vary so widely from case to case.

Tyler’s peers describe him as highly detail-oriented and thorough. He holds himself to a high standard and is always willing to go the extra mile for those he represents. At the end of the day, he takes pride in the work he does and isn’t willing to attach his name to anything that could be considered sub-par. Tyler spent nearly five years in the United States Air Force, and attributes his high work ethic to the things he learned and experiences he had during that period of his life.

Outside the office, Tyler enjoys traveling, and so far has made his way to over 30 countries. While he’s found things he likes about each one, some of his favorite are the ones with beaches. Tyler is a Texas native and earned his law degree from the Louisiana State University School of Law.
