Emily Marcantel is an associate in SBSB’s New Orleans office and is a member of the firm’s Defense Base Act practice group. A first-generation attorney, she spent several years as a litigation paralegal prior to joining the firm in November 2025.

Emily fostered a desire to be an attorney from a young age and committed to the pursuit of the law when she took courses in the Legal and Public Affairs Magnet Program at Miami Senior High School. The Miami native earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida International University in 2022 and graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2025. While in law school, she met her husband and ultimately chose to plant her roots in Louisiana.

Emily is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association and maintains membership with the Hispanic National Bar Association. She enjoys quality time with her family, attending church and volunteering at the animal shelter when away from her practice.
