Chris Carr is the managing partner of SBSB’s Chicago office. A member of the firm’s bench since its inception in February 2015, his practice spans a diverse docket that ranges from workers’ compensation and employer liability defense to subrogation and general liability.
As the leader of the firm’s office in Chicago, Chris values the importance of teamwork and togetherness, virtues that date back to his time as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, where he served as a student manager for the football team under coach Bo Schembechler. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University. Over the course of his legal career, he has handled cases through every step of the process in litigation, even earning the honor of an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell for his commitment to professional excellence.
Chris is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association and is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Central Districts of the state. He maintains a strong presence in the Chicago maritime community, including serving as president of the Chicago Propeller Club and guiding the Port of Chicago to recognition as the 2024 Port of the Year by the International Propeller Club. His depth of experience in practice and in leadership make him a significant resource to the firm and to his clients.
