Zoe Ansell is fascinated by the intersection of facts and the law. That’s where each new case diverges from every other case that came before it. No matter how similar the presentation of the facts, at their core, they are all human problems and that means the application of the law will be different each time. While studying at South Texas College of Law Houston, she took courses in Admiralty Law and Insurance Law, which helped steer her interest towards LHWCA and DBA specialties.

During law school, Zoe clerked for the Texas Court of Appeals, First District, where she observed case law and precedent being developed before her eyes. She gained a unique perspective researching and drafting what would ultimately become opinions and case law. Clerking for the Texas Court of Appeals was an unparalleled experience which shaped the way she practices law today.

Understanding the human aspect and being able to tailor her approach to bring a unique perspective and strategy to every case make her an invaluable asset to her clients and to her colleagues at SBSB.

Zoe is a team player — literally. A large portion of her life has been spent playing soccer and other competitive sports. She played NCAA Division II Soccer for St. Edward’s University and currently plays on the Almeyda FC NSL Women’s team in Houston. Zoe is able to zealously advocate for others because of an inherent drive to do well for her team — and that applies to soccer, the firm and her clients.
