Even though it’s not an aspect of practicing law that many associate with the profession, customer service counts. Lauren Tobiason takes that aspect of her work to heart, and sincerely enjoys helping her clients find a solution. She knows it’s not always about beating the other side into submission or having a precedent-setting legal argument; it’s about getting the result that is best for her client and doing it in the most efficient way possible.
Lauren prides herself on understanding the business aspects involved in each case in order to apply her knowledge and experience in both business and the law to her client’s benefit. She always keeps her eye on the bigger picture — not just the legal technicalities but understanding the facts and how they impact the case, as well as how they affect her client going forward after the case is resolved.
Her public service experience — including clerking for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, working as trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, and representing state medical boards before administrative law judges in Wisconsin — has provided her with an in depth understanding of the unique and complex legal issues that can arise when defending clients in administrative, state and federal forums.
Getting a positive result for her client isn’t always a scorched-earth proposition for Lauren. Enabling her client to emerge on the other side of their case intact and satisfied with the result and with a clear path forward is what she considers excellent customer service.
