Shatabia JaJa is an Associate Attorney at the firm’s Houston office and primarily practices in the defense of federal workers’ compensation claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA).
Shatabia earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston–Downtown in 2008. Prior to pursuing her law degree, Shatabia clerked for a number of Civil District Court judges with the Harris County District Clerk’s Office.
Shatabia earned her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2016. As a South Texas law student, Shatabia received several honors including the Dickerson-Moore Humanitarian Scholarship, Dean’s Honors List, and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for earning the highest grade in Legal Research and Writing.
In her spare time, Shatabia enjoys volunteering with the Young Adult Ministry at The Fort Bend Church, traveling, and a good round of karaoke.
