Nick Earles is a litigator in our firm’s Houston office concentrating on maritime law. He defends claims for personal injury or property loss in State and Federal Courts, both trial and appellate. This includes suits under the Jones Act, general maritime law, 905(b) of the Longshore Act and disputes between shippers, stevedores and ocean cargo carriers.
His practice also includes the defense of waterfront employers, offshore and international energy companies and government contractors in claims made under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, and its extensions, including the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act and the Defense Base Act. Nick has also counseled maritime and energy companies regarding the application of U.S. coast-wide trade restrictions.
