Kevin Baucom, a native of southeast Texas is a Partner in the Houston office focusing on defending insurance carrier’s in employer liability claims under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act and subrogation claims in related third-party liability claims. He has a strong, diverse background in litigation from his years of experience. Another area of focus for Kevin, is subrogation litigation, primarily for workers’ compensation claims. Kevin frequently lectures to professional organizations throughout Texas on employer liability claims as well as subrogation.
In the last several years, his practice has included employers’ liability, state and longshore, workers’ compensation, and general litigation and casualty defense. Kevin is admitted to practice in all Texas state and federal courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the Texas State Bar Association. Kevin is certified in Workers’ Compensation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has tried more than 300 contested case hearings in almost every field office in Texas and has attended more than 1,000 benefit review conferences throughout the state. He has appeared in state and federal courts for hearings and jury and bench trials in Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, Brazos, Fort Bend, Bexar, Dallas, Tarrant, Zavala, Nueces, Montgomery, Wichita, El Paso, Jefferson and New Orleans federal court.
