John Robert Walker is a Partner in the firm’s Houston office. For more than 25 years, he has defended employers and insurance carriers in personal injury lawsuits and claims in Texas state and federal courts. John has successfully defended his clients in federal lawsuits from New York to California. His federal practice also includes defense and trial of claims under the Jones Act, and Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act (LHWCA), and its extensions, including the Defense Base Act, as well as marine injuries and economic losses. This work has included defense of a ship-owner from multiple personal injury lawsuits in the BP Oil spill litigation. His Texas state court practice includes jury trial defense of insurance carriers under the Texas Workers Compensation Act, and “non-subscriber” employers. His office practice includes analysis and counseling to a variety of employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in contractual, insurance policy, and personal injury matters.
In addition to publishing several legal articles, John has represented clients in a number of published legal decisions. John is a frequent lecturer at continuing education courses for employers, insurance carriers, and claims professionals, and regularly presents seminars on a wide variety of civil litigation matters.
